Challenge
Prior to construction, demolition of an existing 90,000 square foot
structure was required. Difficult site conditions included a partial
pile foundation, hazardous waste removal, and coordination and implementation
of owner-furnished equipment.

Solution
Careful coordination between various city agencies,
Bay Air
Quality Control, the hazardous materials subcontractor, and the project
owner resulted in the successful removal of the existing structure and
hazardous materials. Prior to construction,
W.E. Lyons delivered costing options to the owner for various retaining
wall systems, pile and grade beam foundation systems, and mechanical
systems. To reduce installation costs,
W.E. Lyons millwrights installed owner-furnished equipment such as dock
equipment, cash wraps, racking systems, and
emergency generator systems.
