W.E. Lyons Construction was selected through a design-build process for providing the ‘best value’ to the University of California, Berkeley. The University further required an extensive value engineering exercise in order to increase the room count before the start of construction. Our team simplified the structural and civil design which resulted in eliminating unnecessary costs without affecting the Owner’s program, building square footage, quality or LEED requirements.
